Roles and responsibilities
Join our Digital team as a Billing Specialist! We’re seeking a proactive candidate with hands-on experience in Oracle BRM/ECE billing management systems. Responsibilities include administering and supporting the systems responsible for Cablenet’s rating, charging and billing functions. The ideal candidate will ensure timely resolution of all billing issues and queries.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Cablenet’s Billing, rating, and charging infrastructure by ensuring the system is healthy and well-maintained. This involves liaison with other team members such as DBAs and system admins.
- Executing the billing and charging process to ensure the timely processing of bill runs.
- Perform or support, rate change adjustments and maintenance for charging and billing setup as needed.
- Knowledge of OC3C (Oracle communications convergent charging controller) is considered an advantage.
- Create new products in Cablenet’s billing system as commercial teams require.
- Proactively build Proof of Concepts for new products to present to commercial teams.
- Participate with the rest of the Digital team to map the 3-year strategy for the billing ecosystem.
- Provide technical support required to set up and maintain internal parameters for the billing software.
- Monitor performance, investigate in-depth billing issues, and maintain systems according to Cablenet’s standards.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Upgrade systems, in conjunction with the Vendor, with new releases and patches.
- Build and maintain technical documentation.
- Customer follow-ups to ensure timely resolution of all billing issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL
- Excellent Knowledge of Linux, and various operating systems and platforms
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Professional certification in relevant systems (considered an advantage)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud technologies (considered an advantage)
- Knowledge and experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban (considered an advantage)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills to enable multitasking and timely follow-up
- Ability to use own initiative, prioritize, and work independently
- Fluent in written and spoken English
